      Hi Lara, abs don't need to be tense at all during a Jefferson curl. In fact they have absolutely nothing to do with the movement. It's the posterior chain that is being worked.

    Is it possible to correct apt in a few months?

    • @UnityGymOnline
      @UnityGymOnline 16 годин тому

      So I have spondylolisthesis in L4 L5 and that's the main cause of my apt. That's not going away. But the apt causes my hip flexors and lumbar extensors to be super tight and my glutes and abs to be under active. AND if I work on all that just like I describe on this video, it reduces the severity of my apt, allows me to stand and walk with more of a neutral pelvis. Although I always have to think about it a little. So I think the focus should be less on how quickly you can fix it and more on how well you manage it. For me, it's the workouts I do every week that help me manage it.

    coming from a person who uses cycles steroids I feel bad for the people following suite gear and shitty diet never ends well. Gear can be used safely with the proper dosages duration etc. and micronutrient intake through whole foods. But most people who lift can barely track their macros never less understand how steroids increase calcium uptake which is the primary cause for the heart disease most of them end up with. even without gear eating like that to "bulk up" is doing the same thing just slower since gear accelerates everything.

    It’s pretty obvious that Sam is just trying to make a point about weight loss and calories in calories out. He’s not saying this way of eating is healthy or sustainable by any means. This feels like a straw man argument.

    • @UnityGymOnline
      @UnityGymOnline 3 дні тому

      that's true ... his words are about thermodynamics. Yet his actions in every video he posts, demonstrate that he either misunderstands healthy eating, or he's willfully abusing his body. And he's influencing millions, it's dangerous. In our 20 years of coaching (we were coaches when Sam was 2) my brother Yani and I have befriended several professional body builders, most notably Ben Pakulski. All of them express the hardest part of body building is the load it puts on your digestive system. And the guys we know, who have had careers spanning decades, all eat incredibly healthy food. Sam eats incredibly unhealthy food. He's got no idea what's coming for him in the next decade. Which is why I made this video. And I completely disagree with your straw man argument claim. Sam won't be able to refute this until he is a 46 year old, same as me. Only then will he be in a position to talk about the long term health effects that his steroid and PED abuse combined with his terrible diet have on his health.

  • @jplouthelgm5156

    Sam seems like a nice enough guy, but he's setting a terrible and extremely dangerous example, especially for young people who look up to him. Scary!

    • @UnityGymOnline
      @UnityGymOnline 3 дні тому

      I agree, he does seem like a nice guy. And he's obviously very passionate about what he does. But f*&k me he is a terrible role model for his audience. I'd never seen a before and after pic before digging up the one we used in this video. That young man is seriously abusing PEDs which in and of itself is extremely dangerous. Add to that the way he eats, man he's heading for a health catastrophe. Yani and I have sat silently on the sidelines for years as we've seen more and more of these young and naive fitness influencers pop up. I've come to a point where I feel a sense of obligation to speak out against this crap guidance. Don't know how much of a difference it will make, but hopefully I can help people see a healthier way to go about nutrition and exercise.

You'll also get 1:1 coaching from me (Rad) and my team, all inside our coaching app. I know that's a shameless plug, but the truth is, there isn't 'one exercise' that will fix your shoulder. Even when I was that age I wouldn't have been able to function on 1000 calories from donuts in a day. I wouldn't be able to concentrate properly, my motivation would be awful, my energy levels would be rock bottom. Even in the context of a purely "calories in versus calories out" discussion, we've skipped a step if we're talking about getting calories from donuts and Skittles. If that's where I got a significant fraction of my calories, my body composition would be crap. At the very least, if I was maintaining or losing weight while eating that way, then I would be losing muscle mass and bone density. At some point something bad would happen, like I would fracture a rib by bumping into a door the wrong way.

    Look at Ronnie Coleman..he walks with cains now.. I had this kid ask me several months ago why i lift weights so slow. For example, when i bench press i lower the weight for a 5 second count, pause for 1 second, 1 inch above my chest and then on the concentric part i contract as forceful as possible so i explode the weight up.. I began explaining how by unsing this method of training i can make a lighter weight heavy and this places less stress on my joints. I explained how lowering under control the weight for 3 to 8 seconds on the eccentric portion you make significant muscle and strength gains with much less pains. To lift this way you have to check your ego at the door and most young lifters cannot do that.

    In one short video u said that dont stretch your hand in rotaor cuff healing Now u r stretching ur hand to heal injury can u tell me what is this

    • @UnityGymOnline
      @UnityGymOnline 5 днів тому

      Nothing in this video is a stretch. Stretching a torn muscle can be counterproductive as it can re open a tear that is trying to heal. Flexibility training can be done with torn muscles but only with safe guidance from a coach or physical therapist. It's dangerous if you don't know what you're doing, which is why I said to not stretch a torn muscle in the other video you commented on.

    Is this possible to heal partial tear with exercise and what time it takes

    • @UnityGymOnline
      @UnityGymOnline 5 днів тому

      Yes the concept in this video is sound and will fix a partial rotator cuff tear. But you really need to know how to put this into a program. If you have experience writing effective programs, then go for it. If not I highly recommend joining our online personal training so I can write you a program and provide 1:1 coaching. There's too much chance of getting it wrong if you're not experienced. Our online personal training is only $1.75/day, you can learn more here unitygym.com Or go and read our google reviews :)

    Any advice on working out with my dumbbells now that I'm starting to get pain from arthritis down my thumb joints as I grip my dumbbells 🤔😣

    • @UnityGymOnline
      @UnityGymOnline 5 днів тому

      sorry Juneey, I haven't had experience with arthritis. My only understanding is that we want to build and preserve strength as much as possible. My advice would be to try different grips and see if that reduces pain i.e. semi supinated grips vs supinated etc. Also try using hook grip wrist wraps to take the weight of the dumbbell in pulling movements :)
